Hi everyone
Please find attached results of sampling for October, 2024.
Overall the results indicate that the waterways are somewhat healthy, at least in the saltwater reaches. This is great news for those who live along the Coomera River from Paradise Point to Oxenford and the Coomera River Weir.
In respect of the results please find the following explanatory notes:
The water temperature results were remarkably similar across the range; this is probably due to the lack of heavy rainfall. Over the past few weeks, we have only received about 125mm, most of which went straight into the ground.
Our latest planting has received the most beneficial rain that any planting has ever received, which is tremendous news for the plants. The salinity readings from Regatta Waters are on par with that of the adjacent Coomera River which means the pumps in Regatta Waters are working well
The chemical sampling results, even in Waterhen Lake, are on par with, or better than average
Apart from the reactive phosphates in Waterhen Lake, the results for Ammonia Nitrogen are really positive – many thanks to the septic tank owners and to CoGC for their efforts in reducing reactive phosphate and ammonia nitrogen readings.
We should be thankful for we are seeing - reduced levels of chemical pollution and great levels of environmental function.
Thank you for your interest and being so supportive
Kindest regards
Steven Gill
